Her is a series of pictures of some declared gay sportsmen and also some of models who like to pose as sportsmen in quite provocative attitude. When I mean provocative I want to say a bit sexual, like guys who use their sex-appeal to attract the attention of the viewers. And they perfectly know that most of them are gay! So I don't say they are themselves gay , but at least gay friendly.

Orlando Cruz, from Puerto Rico, a boxer who came out
Orlando Cruz is a Puerto Rican professional boxer born on July 1981 ( 32 y/o now), he is the first boxer to come out while still in activity. He declared his homosexuality on October 2012, and did it in stating : "I have and will always be a proud Puerto Rican. I have always been and always will be a proud gay man". Since then he won several fights.
Recently, let say in the past two years more professional athletes have come out of the closet than in the past decade. But still homophobia in professional sports is great bastion for homophobia.
From 2011 to 2013, dozens of athletes publicly came out. More or less all the disciplines were involved, like swimming, cycling, rugby or soccer. And recently the basketer Jason Collins came out, the news was a top story as Jason is still an active player in the NBA. As a public coming out is still an extraordinary event, the news was commented by his colleague, by sports authorities and he even got the support of the US President Barack Obama. Even before that 2013 coming out of Jason, not only the athletes were concerned by the same sex orientation of the players and the homophobia in Sports, but also high figures of Sports. This was the case for Phoenix Suns president Rick Welts, ESPN radio host Jared Max, wrestler Hudson Taylor, and rugby player Ben Cohen. The major League Baseball got involved when the San Francisco Giants participated in Dan Savage’s It Gets Better project for which a total of eight MLB teams had produced videos for the campaign. Former basketballer Charles Barkley was vocal in his condemnation of homophobia in sports.
For Caroline Fusco, of the University of Toronto, professional sport remains a stronghold of homophobic attitudes. And she declares:
“Sport as a space has been one that has really been there for the production of a certain kind of hyper-masculinity. Particularly when you think of pro sports, the big ones: hockey, football, baseball. These all tie in to the rugged notion of masculinity, and these attitudes remain — that gay men aren’t masculine.”

This is the interview of David Testo, an American soccer player, who recently came out as being gay. He is now staying in Montreal, Canada. David explains that he is now comfortable after his outing, but he also points out that gays athletes are hiding and very reluctant to come out even if things are moving ahead. He is still surprised that he did not meet during his career anyone saying being gay in the sports teams he was playing for. It is hard to believe that among all the hundreds of guys he knows , he is the only one gay! This is just a clear indication that in sports homosexuality is a great taboo.

The calendar find a worldwide audience thanks to photos published in the internet mostly on gay oriented sites and blog. The shooting was and still is done by famous photographers. The 2010 release by Tony Duran was qualified as very sexy and even homoerotic, so the latest released for 2011 is considered less provocative.
